youth ministry

The High School Ministry exists to empower teens to live as disciples of Jesus Christ, to participate in the life and mission of the Church, and to Foster the spiritual and personal development of each individual. At St. Michael the Archangel, we accomplish this through a variety of opportunities:

throughout the school year

Youth Night - Weekly on Sundays | 7:00 - 8:30 PM

Each Sunday of the week we host a Youth Night that serves to educate high schoolers about the Catholic faith, equip them to continue to grow in relationship with God outside of our Youth Nights, and show them how to put their faith into action in the habits they create and people they encounter in everyday life. We also offer snacks, drinks, games, small group discussion, and prayer time to promote community among the high schoolers as well as good relationship with the young adult volunteers.

Youth Nights are subject to change or may be canceled due to holidays or the monthly Night of Worship.

No registration is required and students not part of the St. Michael the Archangel Parish are more than welcome to join us. We ask that a Release Form be turned in at the beginning of each school year: 2023-2024 Release Form

Night of Worship - 3rd Sundays of the Month | 7:15 - 8:15 PM

While this is not a youth specific event, we encourage teens to attend with their friends or family. Night of Worship is an hour of Adoration with praise and worship. Encounter God through music, reflection, and the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist!

One Bread, One Cup

One Bread, One Cup is a five-day liturgical leadership conference focusing on the Word, Sacrament and Mission of the Roman Catholic Church for high school youth groups. The conference focuses on community building, leadership development, catechesis, liturgical and spiritual formation, and theological reflection through a deep-dive into the Mass.

Kentucky Mission Trip

During this trip you will have the opportunity to practice the Corporal Works of Mercy by serving an under-developed, rural

area in Appalachia where many families who have suffered live. Work projects in Kentucky are geared toward home renovations

for the poor, elderly, and low-income families. In this area you

will get a chance to meet the Missionaries of Charity, pray with

the sisters, and serve the people they love.

Winter Overnight Retreat

A great opportunity before Christmas break for spiritual formation through talks, small group discussion, reflection time, Confession, Eucharistic Adoration, and the Mass. The one-night retreat isn’t without its fun, though; laser tag, capture the flag, competition, and free-time activities help cultivate community and relationship in the St. Michael the Archangel Youth Group!
