LENT 2019 HAPPENINGS

A SIMPLE GUIDE FOR A PRAYERFUL LENT

Lent is a season that starts with Ash Wednesday and ends with the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday. We mourn Christ’s suffering on the cross and our own sins which made that suffering necessary. Jesus spent forty days in the

desert fasting and being tempted before He began His public ministry. Lent, in turn, is forty days so as to imitate Christ in spiritual discipline before the celebration of Christ’s triumph over sin and death.
